Can I please reemphasise again to anybody interested in this but is feeling a bit intimidated that this is a do as much as you want weekend so if you are thinking you would like to give it a go jump on in we already have a large range of abilities coming. The bike route (See attached image) is a large lap around Snowdon, the first lap will be nice and easy so every one gets to know the route then do as much or little and as fast slow as you like. The run route have yet to be planned but we will be looking at out and back affairs so run as far as you like as fast as you like and then turn back, the swim for those of you unfamiliar with open water swimming will be out and back and staying close to the shore so people can get out at any point ,WETSUITS unless you are a real masochist are essential this time of the year (or any time of the year) up there or you could always stay on shore with a bacon buttie and hot cuppa and laugh at the idiots freezing in the lake, A good lightweight waterproof jacket for the bike and high runs is a must as I cannot guarantee the weather and it is still very cold up near the summit this time of year. To cap it all the local Pub is one of the best real ale pubs in Wales!

One good trail from the YHA (below) up to Snowdon summit. There are some potential run routes on this link here with working photos here to: http://www.hightrek.co.uk/snowdonia/routes.htm

The plan is to travel up on the Friday 1st May and return Monday the 4th. So, Lots of training Saturday, Sunday and  Monday Morning then travel back Monday afternoon.

Days will be along the lines of Lake swim, Breakfast/chill, bike (laps of the Snowdon Marathon course slightly modded to keep it all road, would be good so people can do as much/little as as they want)  Lunch/chill then Trail run and another swim with a few beers in the local pub in the evening, same again on the Sunday and with weather permitting on Monday morning a run following the Snowdon Fell race route from Llanberis to the summit and back (all on well marked track approx 10 miles ). link below:

All informal stuff with peeps electing to do as much or as little as they wish

The plan is to keep it cheap and cheerful and use the local YHAs See shortcut below: Stayed here for the Snowdonia marathon its a great place cheap as chips very clean and tidy and the food is very good and cheap as well! there are a number of other YHAs in the nearby area (Llanberis) if this fills up and hotels for those who dont fancy YHA

Snowdon Ranger is great: a lake perfect for swimming right on the doorstep stunning scenery good trails and roads around. If people are interested its up to them to book accom themselves and turn up on the weekend the plan is to use Snowdon Ranger as the start point for each day so it would make sense to get accom there if possible, also we should be able to get some car sharing going. The YHAs book up pretty quick (especially for bank Holidays) so I will be booking for me, my brother and work training partner/victim early January.

Regards

Graham
